Laporta Plunked in Olympics; Will be Okay

Matt LaPorta, who is playing for Team USA in the Olympics was hit by a pitch in the head in Team USA’s 9-1 victory over China today. LaPorta was taken to a hospital for precautionary tests, all of which came back negative. He rode the bus back to the Olympic Village with the rest of his teammates and is day-to-day.
Tomorrow Team USA will play Chinese Taipei at 7AM ET.
