Sowers Officially Added to Roster; Francisco Sent to AAA

CLEVELAND, OH — The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has recalled LHP JEREMY SOWERS from the AAA Buffalo Bisons. To allow room for Sowers on the Major League roster the Indians optioned OF BEN FRANCISCO to AAA Buffalo.
Sowers has gone 0-2 w/a 3.18 ERA in 4 starts at Buffalo (22.2IP, 19H, 9R/8ER, 8BB, 16K) after being optioned out of spring training to AAA Buffalo on March 24 after competing for the 5th starter spot. He pitched in Buffalo, working into the 5th inning in all 4 starts while fanning a season-high 6 in 4.2IP in his last start of April 21 at Pawtucket. He limited AAA hitters to a .232 (19-82,3 HR) average against as Buffalo scored 9 runs in his 4 starts. Sowers wears #45.
Francisco returns to Buffalo after being recalled by Cleveland on April 22nd when Jake Westbrook went on the disabled list.
