Tribe Claims Breslow off Waivers from Red Sox

The Indians today claimed LHP CRAIG BRESLOW off outright waivers from the Boston Red Sox and added him to the 40-man roster.
Breslow, 27, has spent the last 2 seasons in the Red Sox organization, compiling a mark of 2-3 w/a 4.06 ERA in 49 games/1 start last season at AAA Pawtucket (68.2IP, 70H, 31ER, 6HR, 25BB, 73K). He split the 2006 campaign between Pawtucket (7-1, 2.69ERA, 39G, 7SV) and Boston, where he went 0-2 w/a 3.75 ERA in 13 relief appearances (12.0IP, 12H, 5R/ER, 0HR, 6BB, 12K) for the Red Sox.
Breslow was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 26th round of the 2002 draft out of Yale. The Trumbull, CT native first appeared in the big leagues in 2005 at San Diego and owns a career Major League record of 0-2 w/a 2.86 ERA in 27 games (28.1IP, 27H, 9ER, 19BB, 26K) with the Padres and Red Sox in 2005-06.
He will report to Major League camp in Winter Haven, FL on Monday. The Indians 40-man roster is now at 40.
