Former Indian Nixon Signs a Minor-League Deal with the D-Backs

Former Indian Trot Nixon has a new home, as on Friday he signed a minor league deal with the Diamondbacks. Trot wasn’t much on the field last season, and his biggest contribution was in the locker room. He did however have the big hit in the teams game two win over the Red Sox in Boston. Here is the story from Sports Network on Trot signing with the D-Backs.
The Arizona Diamondbacks signed veteran outfielder Trot Nixon to a minor league contract, the club announced Friday.
Nixon, 33, spent the 2007 season with the Cleveland Indians after spending the first 10 years of his major league career with the Boston Red Sox. In 99 games with Cleveland a year ago, Nixon compiled a .251 batting average, three home runs and 31 runs batted in.
A member of Boston’s 2004 world championship team, Nixon has compiled a .275 batting average, 136 home runs, 221 doubles and 554 RBI over 1081 big league games.
